Finally, freedom from school stress. Do you know what that means?
It's time to bring Spaceship to Infinity back from the dead! Haha, this blog had been slowly dying for a while, but good news! I am back for good. I have missed blogging dearly. (But if you guys do follow me on twitter, you can see my teensy little updates there!)
So what has been happening in my life really? Aside from school, I finally am a certified scuba diver! My checkout dive was an amazing experience. (I got to dive with sea turtles!) I am beyond excited to go diving with my parents at our Palawan beach trip next week. I also finally got my first roll of film developed! I can't wait to share with you my favorite shots!
Art-wise, I decided to finally create a sketch blog over at Tumblr because I want my art to get more exposure. I'll be posting my little doodles, sketches, and all my artsy shenanigans over there. So for all you on tumblr, please do follow thelittlemerms.tumblr.com!
Also, I have been painting quite a lot. It's just very relaxing, and it's also a good way to practice my illustration. I worked on the painting above last night. The story behind it? Well, since it's summer, it's the perfect time to hang out with your best friends. This painting is actually a second version because the first ended up....horribly. (You don't even want to know how it looked like) The second sketch turned out even better than I expected, and I'm having so much fun with watercolor! I'm just not a big fan of the watercolor paper I used. It was rather too "soft" and absorbed the paint too quickly. But all in all, I am happy with the illustration!
Yeah, well that is all for now. How interesting am I?
Well, little mermaid, have fun under the sea! I'm pretty green with envy here. Scuba diving must be amazing! I am looking forward to your film shots. Oh, and LOVE the new sketch blog!
ReplyDeleteWow love the drawing!! Great job Arielle!!

Scuba diving? I'm jealous! But then again, I don't know how to swim.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to learn though (perhaps it's because I've always wanted to be... or at least, pretend to be a mermaid!)
And I like your style in drawing! I don't know why, but it brings a sense of nostalgia to me.
Keep on drawing! :) Your style suits animation, btw. You should try animating as well, I'm sure you'll be good at it ;)
Oh my gosh, this comment was one to smile to after getting back from a vacation. Thank you so much! Having someone say my drawing style would animation just warms my heart. Thank you so much, Nastassia! :)
DeleteHoly crap, you are so talented! And you're only 14! I wish I had your skills! :D
ReplyDeleteAwh your drawings are so lovely!
