Marceline the Vampire Queen

Remember when there were actual decent cartoons on tv? I miss those times when I'd wake up early on Saturday mornings to catch my favorite shows. Among those were Scooby Doo, The Powerpuff Girls, The Wild Thornberrys, Rugrats, and a whole lot more. It sort of sucks that we don't have cartoons that live up to those. {Maybe in the future, I'll get to animate a super-mega-awesome cartoon series! I have so many ideas!}

Although, Adventure Time is one of the few cartoons that I actually enjoy watching nowadays! Here is a drawing of my favorite character from the series, Marceline the Vampire Queen. I like how she likes the color red. I like how she plays the bass. Most of all, I love her singing voice.

This piece is drawn traditionally and lined & colored with Photoshop. I also tried a new watercolor-ish way of coloring my digital works. I love how it turned out! I think I'll be using this more often. 

Dipper and Mabel

THIS TOOK ME 8 FREAKING HOURS AND I AM SO PROUD OF IT! Okay, enough use of caps lock over there. But yes, I have decided that out of all the digital artworks I've done, this one is my favorite.

The characters in the drawing are Dipper and Mabel Pines, twins from the new Disney cartoon - Gravity Falls. It's by Alex Hirsch, the guy behind Fish Hooks {which I thought was hilarious by the way}. The show is about the twins' summer adventures at Gravity Falls, and the mysteries they encounter about the strange town.

I looooooove the show.  I'm a sucker for mysteries and cartoons, so putting them together is the best thing that could ever happen. Gravity Falls is absolutely hilarious and the characters are just amazing. Dipper is my favorite because he's so adorable, but Mabel....is like my spirit animal. She's very artsy and is kind of a spacehead. {Plus, she has sweaters to die for! The one she's wearing in my drawing is my favorite!}

I decided to start practicing with backgrounds now, so I tried it out with this one because I love the color scheme of the show. I'm so happy with how it turned out! I still need to brush up on my shading skills though...

I would very very very much appreciate it if you guys would comment your feedback on this piece! I really want to know what you all think and what I should be improving on.

Avatar: The Legend of Korra trailer

Excuse me while my inner geek shows in this post.

I've always been a fan of Avatar: the Last Airbender. 

(I'm talking about the cartoon version)

So when Nickelodeon finally released the trailer for the next Avatar series,

I couldn't help but squeal in delight!

Oh the excitement! I cannot wait!!!

Team Avatar Girls

I have been re-watching Avatar: the Last Airbender.  I've missed this TV show dearly.  Behold, here are the girls from Team Avatar!  I wondered what these three would look like in our world.  I had so much fun working on Toph's design (who happens to be my favorite character in the series).  Planning to work on the boys of Team Avatar + Azula & her gang soon! :)
