Tumblr Tagged

So it seems I have been tagged by the ever-so-lovely Niña of Infinite Existence to do the Tumblr Tagged challenge! You should check out her answers. They're quite entertaining!

The Rules

1. Post the rules
2. Answer the questions the tagger has sent you through their post and make a new set of 11 questions
3. Tag 11 people and link them to your post
4. Let them know you've tagged them

The Questions

1. If you were given a chance to shop anywhere and you were given an unlimited budget, where would you shop? Just one store.
Art Friend in Singapore! (If you ask me to live in that store as well, I'd be willing to)

2. Christmas or Summer?
I have thought about this overnight, long and hard. There is absolutely nothing wrong with cooking Christmas food in the summer, so I guess I'd pick summer! Yes. Summer it is.

3. Instagram or Twitter?
Twitter.

4. Would you rather be Katniss from The Hunger Games or Tris from Divergent?
I won't survive in the wild so I'd pick Tris even though I don't think I'm half as brave as her.
(Please don't make me choose between two fandoms I am part of ever again. It pains me.)

5. What would you do if you were locked in a room with a pillow, pizza and Britney Spears?
I'd have a heart-to-heart talk with Britney Spears whilst having a slumber pizza party.

6. (The following question is very critical to who you are as a person.. 1/2 jk) Apple or Samsung?
Apple forever and ever and ever and ever

7. Why are butterflies pretty from afar, but extremely gross up close? (Opinion)
I don't even know, dude. Butterflies scare me.

8. Painting or Sketching?
Don't. make. me. choose.

9. To eat ice cream forever and pizza just once in your life or to eat pizza forever and ice cream just once in your life?
Because I sing and I take care of my voice, I'd sacrifice ice cream for the rest of the year and eat pizza forever.

10. Would you ever want to meet an alien?
If this alien happens to travel in a blue police box, then yes, I would.

11. Describe your best friend.
I believe we were the exact same person in another life.

My Questions

1. What is your favourite word?
2. Would you rather live in a jungle tree house or a grand castle?
3. Star Wars or Star Trek? (This question WILL change my opinion of you)

Oh, hi.

Yeah, I'm alive. Hello, again!

So, Arielle, why haven't you blogged in so long?

Well, let's just say for the past 3 months, I didn't feel like anything was worth posting on my blog. Sure, exciting things did happen, but I didn't feel confident enough to go and write about them. I had big plans for the blog, but then put them off cause they just weren't working out. I had great ideas ready to be published, but as I started writing them, they were just feeling a bit off.

I have to say, it was the new JacksGap video (shamelessly plugging my favorite Youtuber on my blog) that inspired me to return to Spaceship to Infinity. Just like me, Jack and Finn Harries have also been on quite the hiatus, and they have finally returned to the Youtube scene a few days ago. Jack mentioned at the end of the video to go ahead and cast aside all those worries, and just post.

The video really made me think about Spaceship to Infinity and why I really started it in the first place: to tell stories. I started this blog to share my thoughts and passions with all of you internet folk. I started Spaceship to Infinity to hopefully inspire other people my age to go after what they're most passionate about.

So here I am, retracing my steps back to the beginning, but for a good reason. Here I am bringing back my Spaceship to Infinity.

On another note, big big plans are ahead for this blog that you have been visiting. As much as I'd like to share them with you all, you'll just have to wait and see. Expect more art, of course, and that Q+A video that I have put on hold. Oh well, you'll all see these great things soon! But in the mean time, enjoy this post! (ha ha haha ha)

P.S. I'm up for any collabs, guest posts, or art trades! Email me at contact.spaceshiptoinfinity@yahoo.com! Let's do some projects together!

I Know Write MNL

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I'd be able to do something like this at 15. What an experience. What an experience. You're probably wondering what I'm rambling on about. I'm talking about none other than the first ever teen blogger's meetup I co-organized and co-hosted last Saturday, I Know Write MNL!

How did IKWR come to exist in the blogosphere? Well, my involvement started mid-2013, after my co-host, Jodie, called out to her blog friends asking for fellow co-hosts for a blogger meet-up she was planning. As I have grown to love blogging over the past 3 years, I didn't hesitate to email her back. I've always wanted to plan a blogger's meetup and meet the rest of the Manila teen blog scene! Eventually, we've swapped ideas and then Niña came along to join the team. Ahh, the power of three!

Please excuse this photo as I am very short (as I mentioned in my first vlog) and my co-hosts were pretty much towering above me. Alright, moving on! Let us steer away from the topic of my height! Haha!

The planning part took a really looooong time, about 4 months in fact! We had to think of a funky name, a pretty awesome location, and a whole lot of other shenanigans to make this whole thing a success. I suggested the name I Know Write as a result of my extreme lameness and my love for playing with words, and yeah, eventually it worked out. Haha! As for location, my mom suggested Kuppa, a café in Bonifacio Global City, where she attended a workshop once. (I'm so thankful my parents were also extremely involved with the planning. We wouldn't have gotten ANYWHERE without their help. Since my dad doesn't have a blog, I'll go plug my mom's instead. *spirit fingers* You will now visit my mom's blog aka the cool blogger mom I have been blessed with.)

As things finally started falling into place, one thought came upon us hosts: What in the world are we going to DO?

This got me thinking, "What/who helped me get to where my blog is right now?" There was only one answer to that question: Ate Arriane. If I didn't attend her amazing blogging workshop, Blogworthy, my blog would still be a mess right now. So I decided, hey, wouldn't it be a treat if she could speak for the teen bloggers coming to I Know Write? I went ahead and emailed her, and luckily, she said YES!

So we were finally set, I guess? All we had to do was pray that it was going to go as planned.

Aw man, it turned out BETTER than I expected! A few mishaps happened here and there, but wow, I had so much fun! I just love meeting new people passionate about the same thing I am. I could definitely feel the creative vibes all around the room!

As for Ate Arriane's talk? Wow. It's always so inspiring to hear her talk so passionately about blogging. You can see she doesn't do it for nothing. She blogs to change the world and inspire the youth through creativity. I hope that when I grow up, I get to be as cool and inspiring as she is!

I don't like to think of us as just a newfound community of Filipino teen bloggers, but as the IKWR Army. ("Woah, Arielle. Why army?") Army because we're changing the world, each one of us, with writing and passion. Don't you think? *cue the confetti throwing*

So on behalf of the I Know Write MNL team, I'd like to thank each and every one of those who participated and gave us the perfect jumpstart to the start of something spectacular. 'Till the next meetup!

P.S. I'd like to close with a couple of instax shots from IKWR. Hooray for rainbow film!

Hoorays + A Treat = ONE BIG YAY

Aw man, I just happened to log on to my blog dashboard to go do my usual bloghop, when I see that I've hit 200 followers.

200 FREAKING FOLLOWERS.

Gosh, thank you so much to each and every one of you! I still remember that moment when I started this blog with ridiculous posts that have been deleted from the face of the earth. I never imagined it would turn into something like this! I just can't believe it! Thank you all so much! From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Anyway, I have something for you guys as a treat! With the "somewhat success" of my first vlog, I've decided to make another one, but I want you guys to get involved with it! Since a lot of you email me with lots of questions to ask and all that fun stuff, I'll be making a Q + A video! If you have any questions for me, just feel free to comment them below! It doesn't necessarily have to be about art. *wink wink* So comment your questions away! I'd love to hear from you all!

Again, thank you all so much for the 200 followers! You guys are the best and the blog wouldn't have made it this far if it weren't for all your love! Love you all!

Seize the Day

HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR, BLOG FRIENDS! I pray that this year will have lots of awesomeness in store for all of us!

2013 was a great year for Spaceship to Infinity. I reached a hundred followers last March, and right now, I'm a few followers away from 200! Also this year, so many of you have sent me the most touching messages about how much you love my art, and reading my blog. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. THANK YOU!

Everyone has got goals, and every new year, we always write a new list with things we want to achieve. We write stuff about the things we want to see and experience, or the places we want to visit. I'm very excited for the new adventures I will be having this new year. So here I am sharing with you what I hope to achieve and experience this 2014:

{ 300 blog followers }
I'm currently 7 away from 200 followers. But who knows? 300 followers this year? Let's do it!

{ more original, less fan art }
Most of you probably know me for the fan art I post. I won't stop posting fan art, but I think it's about time that I should post more original artwork.

{ hello new vlogs }
After the somewhat "success" of my first vlog, so many of you have sent in great ideas for future videos! So stay tuned for more videos of my awkward rambling and chattiness about the things that make me happy. Woohoo!

{ I Know Write MNL }
This is what I am MOST excited about for the year 2014. Along with fellow Filipino teen bloggers, Jodie and Niña, I'm helping out plan a meet up for the teen bloggers here in Manila, so we can build up a community of teen bloggers! If you're from Manila and would like to participate, you can check us out on Facebook, Twitter, and the IKWR blog! See you there!

I'm really looking forward to what 2014 has got for me. What about you? What are you looking forward to this year?

Raggedy Man

I know I haven't posted in the longest time but anyway I'm back!!! Are you guys happy to see me?

Hi, people of the internet universe! How have you all been? A very Merry Christmas to you all, and a Happy New Year! Hope you are all having splendid holidays with you and your families.

Yes, I know, I've been away for a while again. I've been rather drained from inspiring stuff that I haven't gotten around to posting any artwork for you! But not to worry, cause I'm back, and will definitely be posting again. *three cheers for me!*

Anyway, as you can tell by today's artwork, I've seen the Doctor Who 2013 Christmas special, The Time of the Doctor. Good grief. I pretty much cried the entire planet Neptune. I don't think I'll ever let go of Eleven. His personality was my favorite and he taught me to appreciate absolutely every life form on this earth. He taught me that bow ties and fezzes are that cool. He is still trying to convince me to try fish fingers and custard. Thank you, Matt Smith. You were one amazing Doctor. Geronimo!

What else have I been up to?

OH YEAH.

If you guys follow me on twitter and instagram, you probably know my biggest obsession as of the moment. *grand sound effects please* Disney's Frozen! It's no joke that I'm obsessed with the film cause I saw it three times in the cinema. [Disney has earned a lot from my family. Haha!] I'm in complete love with the music, and I've been drawing a lot of Anna and Elsa too! Expect some Frozen fanart posts coming up!

So yeah, that's it for now, as I am still recovering from the Doctor Who special. See ya later, fellas!

Dearest Jessie

Jessie's birthday was in fact yesterday but oh well this is my belated birthday post for her
Hi Jessie!

I just wanted to make this post all about her because she has been an amazing friend, and probably my closest friend from the blogging world. I still remember when she emailed me asking for blog advice earlier this year and from there, we have not stopped emailing each other since. She also requested that I draw her for her blog, and I have been putting it off because of insane school work and other activities. I decided that that drawing would be my birthday gift to her instead.

So anyway, Jessie, if you're reading this:

HAPPY HAPPY 15TH BIRTHDAY! I wish you the very very very best and more birthdays to come! I look forward to the day we meet in person and tour each others' countries together. (I hope this means we can be best friends now? Yihee!) I hope you had a great day! You're one awesome buddy! Love you!

------------

You know what would be a great birthday gift for Jessie? If you all visit her blog, Painting the Ocean and give it a follow! She is the sweetest girl ever and she really deserves it!

25 Facts About Me: The First Vlog!

Because this blog has been on another really long nap, I'm making up for all the posts that could have been with Spaceship to Infinity's first ever vlog!

I've been thinking about making videos for a while now and I've always been inspired by all the Youtubers out there, except, I've always felt awkward talking to a camera. (Not that I don't love the camera, I love cameras!)

I went through a really long entire process with deciding what video would be a good "first video," if you guys get what I'm saying. I decided to stick with the 25 Facts About Me because I wanted to let you guys know me more!

But anyway, I won't spoil much of the video. Just click play, and watch me ramble with extreme awkwardness! Haha!

In all seriousness, if you guys have any suggestions for videos for me to do, please do comment below! I'd love to hear all your input! Also, don't forget to subscribe to Spaceship to Infinity on Youtube! See you guys over at the youtube universe!

Come support Sew Easy!

Hi guys! As some of you have seen on my Instagram, I've been taking sewing classes this year at Sew Easy. I've been taking the classes since July and I have been having so much fun! I've made bags, shorts, pajama pants, and I'm currently making a shirt!

I'd like to invite you all to join us at the Cuenca Bazaar this November 23-24! We'll be selling cool things like headbands and bags, all done by the Sew Easy students themselves. I'll be chilling by the booth, so do come say hi! Hope to see you there!

30/2

Me at 2 years old ha ha ha
That photo basically shows the beginning of my artistic career. Haha! I remember my mom would provide me with a lot of paper, paint, crayons, markers, and all those fun stuff growing up. It's great to see how all that would eventually build up my passion for art.

I'll be turning 15 in 2 days. (That's halfway to 30, whut...)
Am I ready for this?!

Tell you what, I am just extremely thankful for everything that has been happening in my life for the past year. I'm so thankful for the new friends I've made, the new experiences I've had, and most of all, the amount of love you all have been showing for my art. It really warms my heart to see that people appreciate the little doodles I create.

I'm pretty excited to see what 15 has in store for me, even though I'm quite scared. I wonder what new experiences I'll have? What places would I visit? Who would I meet? I'm excited to fill this new chapter with lots of great stories, pretty pictures, and a whole lot more.

Who knows what 15's going to bring? Who knows, who knows?

Day 30: Part Of Your World

A character you will love and remember for the rest of your life:
Ariel (The Little Mermaid)

We have finally reached the end of the 30 Day Character Challenge. I decided to end this wonderful month with the Disney princess I was named after, Ariel. Ariel will always be my favorite Disney princess, with her being a mermaid and loving to collect things. I will always love The Little Mermaid and it will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Day 29: Eliza

A character that makes you flashback into your childhood:
Eliza Thornberry (The Wild Thornberrys)

Ah, those days when television actually had the best cartoons ever. The Wild Thornberrys was one of them. I remember waking up early on the weekends, running over to my cousin's house to watch these cartoons together. Eliza was one of my favorite characters growing up. I loved that she could talk to animals and that she lived in a bus with her family and a pet monkey. How awesome would that be?!

September 29, 2013

Day 28: I Will Have Order!

A character you hate:
Dolores Umbridge (Harry Potter)

Oh goodness, the amount of hate I have for Dolores Umbridge. Plus, the nerve she has for treating the students of Hogwarts makes me want to boil her in hot oil! She is such a hypocrite. I will say no more. I will say no more.

Day 27: Am I On The Naughty List?

An overrated character:
Jack Frost (Rise of the Guardians)

Please don't get me wrong, I LOVE Jack to bits! I just think that too many people watch the film just for this guy. (But who wouldn't, I mean, he's too good looking for an animated character.....okay I should stop now) In all seriousness, however, I think he has been too overrated. What about the other Guardians? I mean they're cool too!

Day 26: The Mayor's Daughter

An underrated character:
Madge Undersee (The Hunger Games)

Madge is one of my favorite characters in The Hunger Games trilogy. I was really sad when I found out she had been written out of the movie. I mean, I like the friendship between Gale and Katniss, but it was really refreshing to see Katniss actually socialize with a girl her age. Plus, she was a real friend to Katniss during the times she really needed help.

September 28, 2013

Day 25: You Really Are A Bad Guy

A character who makes you cry when they cry
Vanellope Von Schweetz (Wreck-It-Ralph)

I was watching Wreck-It-Ralph the other day and my heart clenched during the scene Ralph decided to destroy the race car they both worked on. All Vanellope wanted was a chance to actually be the racer she is, and because of Ralph thinking only of himself during that moment, she couldn't. My heart broke into pieces when she said, "You really are a bad guy!"

September 24, 2013

Day 24: Chichay

Day 24: The character with the best laugh
Chichay (Got To Believe)

Okay, for those of you who aren't from the Philippines, Chichay is the lead female character from the currently airing TV drama, Got To Believe. (It's really weird trying to explain this in English to make it understandable for the rest of you from the other side of the world)

Anyway, Chichay is just the most energetic tv character ever. She's just a ball of energy that talks at a rate of insert-a-huge-amount-here of words per minute. Such a chatterbox. She's just too entertaining and too funny, that when she laughs, you'll definitely be forced to laugh along with her.

Days 17 - 23: Catching Up Part 2

Part 2 of the Catching Up drawing haul! *yipee di doo daaaa*

Day 17: The most awful, mean, evil character you know // Hannibal Lecter is a freaking snake who likes to bite at innocent people who have done him no harm. Ugh. I want to feed him to the cannibals so he can get a taste of his own medicine.

Day 18: An animal character you like // Oh what I would give to have a pet like Naga. I've always wanted a big pet dog, a big fluffy one. However, my dad doesn't seem to share this liking in them. Nevertheless, Naga will always be one of my favorite pets in the Korra world. Who doesn't want a big polar bear dog?!

Day 19: A sci-fi character you like // Originally, I was supposed to go all Doctor Who on this, but then I thought, "Wait a second, what really got me into sci-fi in the first place?!" The answer to that is very simple my friends: Star Wars. I remember watching the original trilogy with my dad and pointing out how much I liked R2-D2. I even remember having walkie talkies of R2 and C-3PO! Oh the good old days!

Day 20: A fantasy character you like // I remember going through a phase where I was obsessed with fairies. Practically obsessed. I love Tinkerbell from Peter Pan. I also like the separate universe Disney has made for her and the rest of the fairies! I loved meeting her back in 2009 at Disney World! Definitely one of my most beloved fantasy characters.

Day 21: A paranormal character you like // I'm not big on horror stuff, but my favorite paranormal characters (if you can consider them paranormal) are without a doubt the Weeping Angels. Nothing gets creepier than statues ready to attack you the second you blink. Oh the joy.

Day 22: The best singer // I had a rather difficult time with this one, but I decided to go with Elphaba from Wicked. Wicked is one of my absolute favorite broadway musicals and I was really blessed to get to watch it last year in Singapore! I am soooo blessed yet again because we'll be watching it a second time next year when the production comes to Manila! So excited!

Day 23: The best dancer // I couldn't take this drawing seriously cause the first thing that came to my mind was Troy Bolton dancing on the golf course in High School Musical 2. Thus, a lame doodle. I literally couldn't stop laughing every time this image came to mind.

Days 11-16: Catching Up Part 1

Part 1 of my extreme drawing haul! I'm so sorry the challenge took a really really really long break. It's just been really busy for me lately that I haven't had the time to open up Photoshop and actually do a drawing! I decided to catch up with some traditional drawings instead. It was great making actual drawings again on paper, as I've only been able to make sketches lately. Anyway, let's get to the characters!

Day 11: A character who taught you something about love // I decided to draw Rosalind from The Penderwicks series. I haven't met a lot of people who have read the books, but I highly recommend them! I chose Rosalind for this day because there's something really special about the love of an older sister. Being an older sister or "ate" (what we call our older sisters here in the Philippines) myself, I related to her character so much. To all the older sisters out there, let us join hands and stand strong because nothing beats our love.

Day 12: A character with the best quotes // Who else has the best quotes other than Dumbledore himself? An inspiring one, that old man. I love absolutely everything he says. I don't have to explain even furthur.

Day 13: A boring character // As much as I love tales of princesses and fairies, Snow White bored me to death. All she did was clean the dwarves' house, eat the poisonous apple, and wait for the prince to kiss her. Sorry, but we need more of the Mulan type of princess nowadays! Girl power!

Day 14: A character you wished was never introduced // There are days when I wish MJ Watson was out of the picture and that Gwen Watson would forever stay in Peter Parker's life. Please don't think of me as a super Spiderman nerd because I'm really not. My judgement is only based on the films.

Day 15: The smartest character // Sherlock freaking Holmes. I just want to take his brain and study how he comes up with his deductions. He's just too intelligent. (Plus he plays the violin which gives him more points in the intelligence category!)

Day 16: The dumbest character // Spongebob Squarepants was pretty much my childhood. I still wonder what a Krabby Patty tastes like until now, or how they can simply have bonfires in Bikini Bottom. But guys, you have to admit that Patrick is possibly the most stupid cartoon character in the history of the cartoons of our generation. Haha!

A Case of a Blank Page

Oh goodness, this blog has took a really long nap.

I know I haven't been posting drawings for my 30 Day Challenge, but do not fret for I have indeed been catching up! It's just been a really busy week for me with high school things and all that. I'm going to be scanning my drawings real soon since I have been doing the rest traditionally. Expect an extreme haul of drawings later on!

Anyway, as most of you many know, I'm a complete sucker for movie scores and instrumentals. I came across this track the other day and completely fell in love. It's so happy and upbeat and a great track to draw to. Thought I'd share it with the rest of you!
